Three free or low cost trips to take this spring

Spring will soon be upon us and it also happens to be the perfect time of year to take a trip or two to unwind and relax. While the weather varies across Australia, the spring season usually provides decent weather so it’s a great time to get the family out of the house and go adventuring.

What’s even better is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money (or any money) to have fun during the spring months. To give you some ideas on what you can do without spending a fortune, here are 3 free or low cost trips to take this spring!

1. Go adventuring outdoors! Australia has a lot to see if you simply take a step outside and get some fresh air. View beautiful trees like Jacaranda, go bird watching, view vast gardens, waterways, bridges and hiking tracks. Adventuring outdoors is the perfect trip to go on by yourself, with a few friends, or with the whole family. A day trip outside may just be what you need to unwind and relax without having to spend any money.

2. Go on a “photography date”! Everyone has a camera or smartphone these days, which means that taking photos is easy and convenient. If you’ve been looking for something for you and your significant other to do without spending a lot of money, get creative with a photography date. Here are a few ideas of what to take photos of - street photography (vendors, people, food, etc.), aerial photography from one of many great lookout spots, sunsets and sunrises, bird photography and bridges. Oh, and since you’re on a photography date, don’t forget to include a few selfies of your adventures as well!

3. Take a bike ride around the city you live in! Australian cities have a lot to explore; some of which may be missed if travelling by car. Why not rent a few bikes and invite your family or friends to cycle around the city to take in all of what your city has to offer? Bike rental is usually cost effective and while you’re riding around, you’ll also be getting in a little exercise as well.

Date night photography, city bike rides and looking at the beautiful nature around us can happen anywhere you live! You never have to spend a lot of money to have a great adventure, so it’s time to start planning your spring activities!
