Three tips on how to remember to pay your bills
If you’re trying to get out of debt, every little bit of extra money you have to spend can be the difference between achieving your debt paydown goals, and staying stuck living from payday to payday.
Imagine how much more money you could be saving or using to pay down your debt if you didn’t have to worry about paying pesky late fees - so today we’re going to share with you 3 tips on how to remember to pay your bills on time:
- Use Google Calendar or something similar. If you use a lot of Google services, this one is a no-brainer. You can access your calendar on your computer, on your smartphone and on your tablet. Simply enter when your bills are due and Google Calendar will remind you. You can even set up recurring events so that you only have to enter the information once.
- Not a tech person? While not fool-proof, hanging a printed calendar in an area where you will see it everyday can help remind you of when your bills are due.
- Use auto-pay services if available. While setting up auto payments seems a little scary, it’s one of the best ways to avoid forgetting to pay your bills because the money simply comes out of your bank account on your due date every month.
